At Richards & Woods safety of your littlest family members is paramount and therefore great care is taken when designing and creating all of our pieces to ensure they meet Australian Safety Standards.
We use only non toxic paints and stains, along with the highest quality sustainable materials.
It is recommended that all our play equipment only be used on soft surfaces such as grass, play mats or carpets.
Children should be supervised at all times whilst play equipment is in use.
Our outdoor play equipment is designed from Kwila wood which is outdoor suitable material, whilst every effort is made to reduce the likelihood of the timber 'bleeding', raw Kwila wood contains tannins which can leak from the timber when it becomes wet. For this reason, to avoid staining we recommend all outdoor equipment be used on grass only.
In terms of painting, we use 100% toxic free eco paints for our painted sets which are internal and external suitable. However in the event that the equipment becomes extensively wet there is a small possibility of the tannins seeping through the colour. We therefore recommend our outdoor sets be kept dry / under cover or avoided from rain exposure.
